"I am out with lanterns, looking for myself” -Emily Dickinson

Social media, public opinion, public image, and more heavily influence our modern-day society. It leaves people striving to look good in the eyes of others, no matter the circumstances. It takes a serious toll on the mental health of individuals, something that is not talked about enough, especially in growing young adults. It can make people feel left out, lonely, lost, and overwhelmed. It makes the anxieties and overthinking louder than the truth. The truth is that you are not alone. Countless people might be in the same position as you, so this blog is created to help combat your anxiety, your loud thoughts. It is created to showcase a journey of self-growth. Everything happens for a reason. I know it sucks. But let’s take a journey together to become comfortable with ourselves and to love ourselves. We are all worthy of love.

Why the name “The Gentle Recovery”? I want to help rewire our brains, removing the unhealthy addictions or habits we have developed. The addictions people don't talk about, such as negative self-talk, self-isolation, overthinking, feeding into our anxieties, and more. Let’s be gentler on ourselves. It’s our first time living, be patient.
